Play Me A Song

Last weekend we went to Peitermeritzburg with one of our new favorite friends to buy Derek a guitar. It was a successful trip. We did not have much time so Derek was forced to make a speedy decision (in his world it probably felt like a split second decision). He wasn't even able to shop around! I think he made a great decision and have enjoyed listening to him and his new friend become acquainted each night. He has not named her yet - I am sure it is a female though. While on our shopping adventure we also visited the kwaZulu Natal Art Museum. It was very nice and even had a Picasso and it was free. Beat that. Bet you can't.

We did spend way too much time in taxi's though. The way the system works here is that all the taxi's (vans) line up at the rank. There is a rank manager (or something like that) who knows where each taxi is going, but often the lines are labeled. Sounds easy. It is. The hard part is the waiting. The taxi will not leave until it is full so if you are unfortunate enough to be the first one on a taxi with an unpopular destination - pull out your book and get comfortable. Luckily when we catch a taxi home from Bergville to Woodford, we rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes. That was not the case for this trip. Not at all.
