We were informed one week ago, ONE, that our training group was going to host a 5K race to benefit a local Home Based Care center. I would like to think that maybe they sprung this on us with such little time to plan in order to teach us some valuable life lessons, but I am afraid that the disorganization and last-minuteness might simply be a indication of how things occur here.
Well, even though we were only given a week to plan it, the race was quite a success and actually lots of fun. Almost 300 kids came out to run and a good amount of rand was raised. Derek worked on the committee responsible for collecting donations from local businesses and I headed up the registration table.
