Worst Day in a Long Time

So Derek and I went to Johannesburg to close out our time in the Peace Corps. We drove our new car (yes we are staying in SA for another year to work and feel out the art scene) up there. A few days before I was to leave for Ethiopia and Derek was to head out, in the car, with Mary and Linda to Cape Town, it was stolen. At 10:00 in the morning in the charming Sunnyside Neighborhood of Pretoria. Then, later that afternoon the Peace Corps gave me a false positive on an STD from my pap smear. A couple days later we were on our way to having the insurance sorted and I had confirmation that the test results given to me were incorrect.  It was a bad bad bad day, but in the end it all sorted out. We got a new car and I left for Addis Ababa with a clean bill of health.

These next few months will be full of excitement and then the following year should be fun and interesting as I start working as the Strategic Manager for the Masisukume Sakhe Project and as Project Manager for Isiphephelo a place of safety for abused children.
