May Birthdays

These are two of my co-workers: Mum Nkhuta and Sthebile. Mum Nkhuta is one of my favorite people here - she is bright and kind and a great listener. Sthe is a ton of fun - often we have impromptu dance parties in the office. At a labolla ceremony last weekend her and I got down to some South African club music and everyone thought this was hysterical. I was concerned that maybe they were laughing at my dancing ability, but I was told it was only because I am white and they did not know white people could dance like them! Hello! They obviously did not know that I spent my college years under the wing of Karline Ricketts, Kin Winn, Mrs Faye and the rest of my Jamaican mentors! At least I am hoping they were really laughing at the color of my skin and not my moves - now I am paranoid again.



Anyways, Sthe, Mum Nkutha and I had a joint birthday cake celebration.
