Melissa (Big Melissa as opposed to Little Melissa), my old roommate from college and our very dear loved friend came out to Denver and CO Springs for a visit. We had a blast. She brought her new love, Russ, with so we were able to meet him too. He was great. Gandalf was suppose to leave with them and move to Maine. This is what Melissa, Derek and I had always talked about happening to Gandalf when we left for the PC, but when the morning came, we couldn't bare to part with him. Surprising to some and not so surprising to others, it was Derek who was the major advocate for keeping him. I of course hated the thought of being here without him, but I was slightly more prepared than Derek emotionally I guess. After much debate we decided to send him to Maine later because, as Derek said, "it just doesn't seem right to be here without him."
