Derek and I have moved around some and I am always amazed at how lucky we are at finding and forming good, strong, lasting friendships with awesome people. Even though many of these friends are now spread around the country and world, and God only knows when we will see some of their faces again, we both have been very lucky to have had such lovely friends to share our lives with so far. Two of these new friends are Chris and Rachael who are not only our good friends, but also our close neighbors! I was at another friend's house and I realized I wouldn't have met her or Rachael (both of whom I spend much of my fun time with) if I hadn't made a fool of myself my first day of graduate school. Chris and I started at DU the same quarter and both went to the wrong room for our first class. If that hadn't happened, we might never had met as the class we were in together was very big, our programs very really overlap, and we have very few other friends in common. If I had not met Chris I would not have met my special friend Rachael and by extension some of my other new special friends like Theresa who was Rachael's cousin's old roommate in Chicago! And.... who can say if book club, running club, soup club, and all the other very exclusive clubs we have yet to form would exist! I can't bear to think of it!
