I recently saw the movie Slum Dog Millionaire with friends and, I am not exaggerating here, it is one of the best movies I have EVER seen. And I've seen a lot of good movies (thank you Netflix)! The movie is amazing, I was drawn in through not only the story line, but the filming is amazing. It is also relevant as it takes place in Mumbai. Go see it.
On a different note.... Last night the weather dropped severely here, down to 16 below. This morning when I was getting ready to leave it was still -9 and as I looked out the front window of our house I realized there was ice on the inside. It wasn't really cold in our place, but near the windows the cold was fierce enough to freeze the condensation inside our home!
We leave for Nashville in a couple days and are super pumped about the trip. We have a long mental list going of the restaurants we want to patronize while in town. In the mean time Derek has been painting up a storm, well a farm scene actually, and I have been babysitting and working at Namlo and IDE and finding more time to play around.
Actually, at IDE this morning we got a letter from a disgruntled voter who responded to our annual giving campaign with a letter (typed all in Capital Letters) which stated that we should seek support from our new government since it will be redistributing the wealth thus preventing him/her from supporting the organizations he or she was able to in the past. Well, Merry Christmas! How's that for holiday spirit? I am sure yours is much better and so, if you are needing to buy small gifts for people in your life who already have all the scented lotion and candles they need, consider www.changingthepresent.org. When you go, search by Non-profit: IDE or International Development Enterprises. I have recently posted a lot of $5 and $10 gifts that can be purchased in honor of someone in your life.
