Another Mountain Adventure

The water was so cold it burned.
Melissa and Farah

This hike through Tugela Gorge (not to be confused with Rainbow Gorge) was probably the best one I have done. Derek might have a different one. It rained on and off most of the way to the cave and there was a serious torrential down pour on the way back. The water was cold and the rain chilled us to the bone. Even though it was summer, my hands and feet were numb. Not just numb – I might have been experiencing the first stages of hypothermia because I could not get my arms to move the way I needed them to in order to change my shirt or my hands to button my pants after a quick potty break. The scenery was breathtaking though. This part of the world… ay-bo!

Our Christmas Holiday

Sundowners! This might be the one aspect of Afrikaner life I will try to integrate into ours: Watch the sunset with a drink in hand to celebrate a successful day.

"Hole in the Wall"

It was windy up there

Derek and I did some good traveling over the coast for our Christmas break from work. It was not at all like any other Christmas we have had, but it was memorable and a bunch of fun. We saw some great stuff, ate some really great food, met some new exciting people and did a lot of relaxing and laughing. We camped everywhere we went up and down the coast expect for the last two nights in Port Shepstone and Durban. I got sick towards the end of the journey which really put a damper on things for a bit. Everything is back to normal in my body I am happy to report. Here are some selected snap shots of the traveling!
