Seven Years ago....

Seven years ago from this past Sunday Derek and I had our first kiss and officially started dating in Thailand. So, this weekend Derek took me on a surprise trip to Strawberry Hot Springs in Steamboat. We had an amazing time - the place was indescribable. To sit in a natural hot spring and look out at a beautiful snow covered landscape for a whole weekend is to be truly blessed - and to top it off we each got to enjoy it with our most favorite person - each other.

We spent most of our time in the hot springs or being together in our bungalow, but did venture to town to celebrate with a wonderful meal at Cafe Diva supposedly the best place in town - all signs point to yes for us! We had an amazing time practicing our manners and eating what Derek called the "best meal he'd ever had." On our way home to Denver we had a huge breakfast in Steamboat again before heading on a scenic drive to Fort Collins. On the way we were able to do some hiking and Derek decided he likes CO even more as we drove past trail after trail.

Derek outside our bungalow cooking up some pancakes.

This was the view from our window - literally this amazing on all sides

Our Bungalow!

That's the little place where I got a massage - no CD required. You just had to listen to the natural sounds to relax.

Hiking

We finally crossed the continental divide - now we just need to figure out what exactly that means.

Squirrel Power

Last Tuesday this lucky squirrel spent his whole day enjoying a treasure: an almost empty peanut-butter jar. We really enjoyed watching him carrying this huge plastic container around the yard and through the trees. Once he almost fell (see last picture). We scared him and I thought he was gone for good but then later that night he was back and I spent another long stretch laughing at him. He would stick his head in and try to get all of it out and then when that became frustrating he resorted to sticking his little paw in and licking the peanut-butter off. It was probably the high-light of his life....

Take all your problems
And rip 'em apart

Carry them off
In a shopping cart

And another thing
You should've known from the start
The problems in hand
Are lighter than at heart

Be like the squirrel, girl
Be like the squirrel
Give it a whirl, girl
Be like the squirrel
(the White Stripes)

P.S. I added a link under the "look at this" section: Tiny Show Case. It is neat.

Trade as One

Check out this site next time you need to buy a birthday present or some other token of love. Doesn't solve all the trade inequities by any means but....

Sale Away With Me....

Ginny Sale, my roommate from West Palm, and her boyfriend Rob were in town this weekend. Fun was had by all.

For some reason in half of all the pictures Ginny and I take together we have our mouths open and this expression on our face and.....

it looks like Derek is carrying on the tradition here!
